Abstract

This article examines the methods for identifying defects in carbon steels produced through casting processes. Focus is given to defect detection using ultrasonic flaw detection (defectometer), mechanical methods, microanalysis, and microscopic examination. Each method's advantages and limitations are discussed. Strategies for eliminating identified defects are provided, and the effectiveness of the chosen methods is assessed. Experimental results include an evaluation of wear resistance and friction durability of the produced materials
