AUSTENITE TO MARTENSITE PHASE TRANSFORMATION
Abstract
This research focuses on the process of transforming the austenite phase into martensite. The transformation from austenite to martensite occurs during heat treatment processes, particularly through rapid cooling (such as quenching in liquid nitrogen or oil). The formation of martensite significantly influences the mechanical and physical properties of the metal, enhancing its hardness and strength. The study examines the phase transition mechanism, the effect of cooling rate, and the structural characteristics of the resulting martensite. The findings are important for the creation of high-strength materials in metallurgy and the machinery industry.
